Porcellio Werneri, also known as Greek Shield or Space Pods, is a relatively large, uniquely shaped isopod prized for its mild temperament and adaptability. With a dark grey to black body and a distinctive milk-white edge resembling a shield or “skirt,” this species is visually striking and a popular choice for terrarium enthusiasts. Ideal for soil aeration and detritus cleanup, P. Werneri is well-suited to temperate setups and requires moderate care.

- Seasonal breeders, juveniles appear during specific times of the year

Suitability:
- Good for keepers looking for a visually distinct, medium-difficulty Porcellio
- Ideal for bioactive terrariums or soil-aerating cleanup crews
- Less suitable for complete beginners due to seasonal breeding and territorial behaviour

A larger, rare-looking isopod with striking coloration and armor-like body structure. With proper care, colonies can thrive for multiple years.
