Appearance & Behaviour:
Medium to large (1.5–2 cm), violet-grey coloration, cannot roll into a ball, quick when startled, moderately territorial. Females care for young for several weeks post-birth.

Care & Conditions:

  • Substrate: Organic soil + sphagnum peat moss + sand + leaf litter + decaying hardwood + crushed limestone

  • Enclosure: 15–20 L minimum with hides, good ventilation

  • Humidity: 50–70% with drier and more humid zones for microclimate

  • Temperature: 20–24°C

Diet & Feeding:
Leaf litter, decaying wood, cork bark, vegetables, occasional fruit, protein like dried shrimp, calcium supplements like cuttlebone or crushed limestone.

Breeding:
Moderate. Stable temperature, moisture gradient, sufficient calcium, and minimal disturbance encourage healthy reproduction.

Suitability:
Great for keepers wanting a larger Porcellio with subtle coloration and interesting parental behaviour. Not ideal for tropical high-humidity setups or very small enclosures.
